The 6th Changchun Asian Winter Games Flag Raising Ceremony of the Hong Kong Delegation

Most of the members of the Hong Kong Delegation have arrived at Changchun for the 6th Changchun Asian Winter Games to be held from 28 January 2007 to 4 February 2007. The Flag Raising Ceremony of the Hong Kong Delegation had been held on 28 January 2007, at 10:40am, at the Changchun International Conference and Exhibition Centre.

The Ceremony was graced by The Hon. Timothy FOK, GBS, JP, President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC), Mr. PANG Chung, BBS, Hon. Secretary General, Mr. Ronnie WONG, JP, Chef de Mission of the Hong Kong Delegation, Medical and Headquarters Officials, Ice Hockey and Short Track Speed Skating Teams. The Hon. Timothy FOK presented a souvenir cover of the Hong Kong Delegation’s Participation in the 6th Changchun Asian Winter Games to the Changchun Asian Winter Games Organizing Committee. After that, the HKSAR Flag was raised with the National Anthem playing and this officially symbolized Hong Kong’s participation in the Games.
Hong Kong Delegation will participate in 3 events, namely: Men’s Ice Hockey, Figure Skating and Short Track Speed Skating. Men’s Ice Hockey Team had competed with Malaysia and South Korea on 26 and 27 January 2007 respectively. Their next match will be held on 2 February 2007 competing for the 9th/10th position. We wish the Hong Kong Athletes will excel themselves and achieve their personal best results.
