Draw for the Allocation of Press Accreditations for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will be held on next Monday

The XXIX Beijing Olympic Games will be held in Beijing, China next year in August. To facilitate the Hong Kong based media organizations' coverage of the Beijing Olympic Games, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), through the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (Federation) will allocate press accreditations to the local printed media in Hong Kong in its usual practice.

This year, Hong Kong is allocated with 20E (Journalist) and 14Ep (Photographer) passes for the local printed media to cover the Beijing Olympic Games, a 42% and 250% increase is recorded respectively as compared with the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.

The eligible local sports media has shown great interests in the Games as a total of 78 E(Journalist) and 58 Ep(Photographer) applications from the 14 recognized local printed media are received. As the requests have exceeded the number of accreditation quota given to Hong Kong by the IOC, following the usual practice in previous Multi-Sports Games, the Federation is going to organize a ballot draw for the allocation of press accreditations on next Monday. Details of the draw are given hereunder:-

The confirmed draw result will then be announced through Press Release afterward.
