Presentation of a Mercedes-Benz Vito to Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China IOC DaimlerChrysler Partnership

The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China has been bestowed with a Mercedes-Benz Vito crew bus by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), sponsored by DaimlerChrysler. A Presentation Ceremony was held on Tuesday, 16 September 2003 at 4:00 p.m. at Hong Kong Stadium, 55 Eastern Hospital Road, So Kon Po, Hong Kong officiated by Dr. Thomas BACH, Vice President of the IOC, Mr. Peter HONEGG, President of the Mercedes-Benz China Ltd. and the Hon. Timothy T T FOK, President of SF&OC of HK, China. In addition, Mr. H. W. BEUTH, Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany, senior government officials, representative from the member Associations and members of the press had also made their presence to honour the ceremony.

After the opening remarks by the Hon. Timothy T T FOK, President of SF&OC of HK, China, Dr. Thomas BACH, Vice President of the IOC and Mr. Peter HONEGG, President of the Mercedes-Benz China Ltd., Mr. Peter HONEGG was invited to give the giant car key to Dr. BACH for his presenting to the Hon. Timothy T T FOK. To memorize this remarkable occasion, a group photo of all the guests were taken in front of the crew bus.
The gift of a crew bus from DaimlerChrysler marks the strong support from the commercial sectors to the Olympic movement and there will be more to follow.
