Bank of China Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards 2007 – Promote Sports and Disseminate the Spirit of Olympism!

21 November 2007: The “Bank of China Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards 2007” organized by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (the Federation) and subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department is around the corner again!

The Hon. Timothy T. T. FOK, GBS, JP, President of the Federation; Mr. Raymond LEE, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Bank of China (Hong Kong); Ms. Olivia CHAN, Assistant Director (Leisure Services) of Leisure and Cultural Services Department and Mrs. Vivien FUNG, JP, Chairman of the 2007 Bank of China Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards Organizing Committee officiated at the Press Conference. The Medalists of the Macau 2nd Asian Indoor Games and the Winners of 2006 Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards also gathered together to publicize this annual prestigious event in the Announcement Press Conference at the Olympic House.
The Hong Kong athletes attained commendable and remarkable results in the Macau 2nd Asian Indoor Games, coming back with a total of 15 Gold, 9 Silver and 12 Bronze medals. With their effort and dedication to strive for excellence, their glories resulted in Hong Kong being ranked 3rd in the Medal Tally among 45 countries/territories in the Games. Their distinguished performances not only signify that Hong Kong athletes possess high caliber to compete with their counterparts in Asia but also build up their confidence in competing in forthcoming international events.
With the continuous support from the Bank of China (Hong Kong) as our Title Sponsor of this year’s Award, the athlete with the highest votes among the 8 winners in the category of Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards will be crowned with “Bank of China (Hong Kong ) Best of the Best Hong Kong Sports Star Award”.
The Federation would like to express its heartfelt thanks to the Bank of China (Hong Kong), the Title Sponsor of the event and Leisure and Cultural Services Department for their continuous support to this event.
