The Hong Kong, China Delegation departed for the Bali 1st Asian Beach Games

The main party of 23 members group of Hong Kong, China Delegation departed today (16 October 2008) for the 1st Asian Beach Games (ABG) to be held in Bali, Indonesia from 18 to 26 October 2008.

The Hong Kong, China Delegation comprising 51 members would participate in the inaugural ABG. Under the leadership of Mr. Karl KWOK, Chef de Mission, the Hong Kong, China Delegation athletes would represent Hong Kong to participate in seven sports out of 17 official sports and two demonstration sports including Beach Handball, Beach Volleyball, BodyBuilding, Marathon Swimming, Sailing, Triathlon and Windsurfing in the captioned Games.
ABG is a new multi-sports Games initiated by the Olympic Council of Asia and will be held every two years for athletes representing Asian countries / regions to participate in non-Olympic and beach oriented sports. It is hoped that the introduction of the Asian Beach Games will open up a new façade of sports for those sports enthusiasts who are keen in beach and water sports.
To further promote the 1st ABG to the public, the Federation has already established a webpage in our official website to introduce the Games and the Hong Kong Delegation. During the period of 1st ABG, the most updated competition results of the Hong Kong Delegation will be uploaded onto the webpage. For details, please visit our official website at www.hkolympic.org.
