The Football Team of Hong Kong, China Delegation departed for the Singapore 1st Asian Youth Games

The Football Team of Hong Kong, China Delegation departed today for Preliminaries of the 1st Asian Youth Games (AYG) to be held in Singapore from 29 June to 7 July 2009.

The Football Team comprising 18 athletes would participate in the Group D of the Football event of the AYG. There are 15 teams in total and their opponents in the group are Saudi Arabia and Lao DPR. The first match of Hong Kong team will be held at 5:00pm on 22 June 2009 at Jurong JC.
With “Asia’s Youth, Our Future” as the Games’ slogan, AYG provides an excellent forum for learning, cultural exchange and friendship among the Asian Youth. Youth athletes aged from 14 to 17 years old from 45 Asian countries will gather for this Games to compete in 11 sports disciplines, including Diving, Swimming, Athletics, 3-on-3 Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Bowling, Football, Sailing, Shooting, Table Tennis and Windsurfing.
The Federation had also established a mini webpage in our official website dedicated to the Hong Kong Delegation to the AYG. During the Games period, the most updated competition results of the Hong Kong Delegation will be uploaded onto the webpage. For details, please visit our official website at www.hkolympic.org.
