Hong Kong sent a delegation of 72 members, comprised of 46 athletes to participate in 6 sports, namely Aquatics, Athletics, Bowling, Football, Table Tennis and Windsurfing. The Delegation attained a total of 5 Golds, 8 Silvers and 5 Bronzes and was in the 5th position in the overall medal tally, i.e. after the Asian strong contingents China, Korea, Thailand and Singapore. Our athletes also made 7 new Hong Kong records in the Games.

The establishment of the Asian Youth Games aims to promote the Olympic Movement among the young athletes and provide them a forum for learning, cultural exchange and friendship. The next Asian Youth Games will be held in Incheon, Korea in 2013.

Finally, the Federation would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to adidas Hong Kong Limited in appreciation of their support to the Delegation and congratulate the outstanding achievements of the Hong Kong young athletes, wishing them continued success in their future competitions.
