Presentation of 2009 IOC “Sport and the Fight against Doping” Trophy

The IOC Trophy 2009 “Sport and the Fight against Doping” was presented to Mr. TSANG Tak Sing, JP, Secretary for Home Affairs of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, in recognition of his great contribution in establishing a strong sports policy, particularly in setting up a Hong Kong Anti-Doping Committee (HKADC) under the auspices of the Federation.

The presentation of the 2009 IOC trophy was held today in Hong Kong Central Library during the Flag Presentation Ceremony for the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the Vietnam 3rd Asian Indoor Games. This trophy is titled “Sport and the Fight against Doping” with a view to encouraging the fight for clean sport, particularly fight against doping on national, regional or international levels.
Mr. TSANG has put dedicated effort in the formulation of the anti-doping policy and drug free sports environment in Hong Kong. This can be reflected in the set up of the HKADC in full compliance with the World Anti-Doping Agency since September 2008, after two-year discussion and preparation led by him. Because of his commitment and contribution in fighting against doping, it is all recognizable that anti-doping were given more attention by the athletes, Government as well as the whole community in Hong Kong.
