The Hon Timothy T.T. FOK, GBS, JP, President of SF&OC mentioned that, ¡§We hope that the Publication would furnish students with relevant sports details before they are going to watch the 5th EAG competitions on site on December. This would not only enhance students in the knowledge of this international multi-sports Games being first ever held in Hong Kong, but also would let the general public have a better understanding of the 22 EAG sports, in particular the characteristics, game format and the value of appreciation of each sport, which would arouse the general public to support our local athletes to strive for their best.¡¨ During the Ceremony, Mr. PANG Chung, BBS, Hon Secretary General of the SF&OC briefed some 500 teachers at the Ceremony the contents of the Commemorative Publication.
With the cooperation of LCSD and EDB, SF&OC will dispatch the Commemorative Publication to local Primary and Secondary schools as their teaching materials of Liberal Studies and Physical Education subjects. Students can attain the knowledge of understanding our athletes in different angles, basic information of the Games and the thorough history of EAG, as a whole, to reinforce their knowledge in the international multi-sports Games organized in Hong Kong for the first time.
The Federation would like to take this opportunity to express the deepest gratitude to HAB, LCSD and EDB for their generous support in the overall coordination. The Federation would also like to take this opportunity to express its heartfelt gratitude to Hopewell Holdings Ltd. for sponsoring the venue of this Ceremony and AIA for providing insurance for this event.
