The 26th East Asian Games Association Council Meeting 2009 Rules & Sports Committee Meeting and Medical Committee Meeting (II) Hong Kong, 1 December 2009

We are pleased to announce that the 26th East Asian Games Association (EAGA) Council Meeting, 2009 EAGA Rules & Sports Committee and Medical Committee Meetings (II) were successfully held today in The Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel. Delegates coming from the Member National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of the East Asian zone including China; DPR Korea; Hong Kong, China; Japan; Korea; Macau, China; Mongolia; Chinese Taipei; Associate Member NOC of Guam, and representatives from the 6th East Asian Games Organizing Committee, the 5th East Asian Games Planning Committee and relevant Government Department attended the Meetings.

Two Committee Meetings were held in the morning session. The Medical Committee Meeting was held at 10:00 a.m. in which various issues regarding Doping Control arrangement and medical services of 2009 East Asian Games were discussed. After that, the Rules & Sports Committee Meeting commenced at 11:00 a.m., issue such as entries, competition schedules and rules of 2009 East Asian Games were reported by the 5th East Asian Games Planning Committee.
The Opening Ceremony of the 26th EAGA Council Meeting and 2009 EAGA Rules & Sports Committee and Medical Committee Meetings (II) was kicked off in the afternoon on the same day. The Opening Ceremony was officiated by Mr. Victor HUI, Vice President of EAGA, and Mr. TSANG Tak Sing, Secretary for Home Affairs. Mr. YU Zaiqing, Vice President and Vice President of IOC and EAGA, Mrs. Mrs. FUNG CHING Suk Yee, Betty, Director of Leisure and Cultural Services and the Elected Officers from the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China were also made their presence in the Ceremony.
Then, the 26th EAGA Council Meeting commenced after the Opening Ceremony. Progress report made by the 5th East Asian Games Planning Committee (5th EAGPC) on the subjects of Opening & Closing Ceremonies, transportation, security, cultural event, ticketing and media services of 2009 East Asian Games were discussed. The Council Meeting concluded by the presentation of 6th EAG progress report by the 6th East Asian Games Organizing Committee. The meeting ended at 16:00.
The meeting delegates will attend the coming events related to the 5th East Asian Games, including the Opening Ceremony on 5 December 2009.
