The Bank of China Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards 2009 (HKSSA 2009) is entering into its final stage. The deadline for the online public voting of the Awards would be on 8 February 2010. The media luncheon for members of the Sports Media was organized by Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China today on 4 February 2010. The purpose of this luncheon was to introduce the voting mechanism to the members of the Sports Media. At the same time they were also invited to vote for their favourite Hong Kong Sports Stars, Junior Sports Stars and teams. Owing to the familiarity of the Sports Media in the information and development of sports sector, their votes would definitely bestow added credibility on the Awards.
As of 1 February 2010, over 60000 online votes were received from the public. This has reflected enthusiastic support of the public towards Hong Kong athletes. Apart from the adjudication of stakeholders of the local sports sector, votes from the Sports Media and the online public voting are equally crucial to the outcomes of the Awards.
