Presentation of 2010 IOC “Sport –inspiring young people” Trophy

2010 IOC Trophy was awarded to Mrs. Betty FUNG CHING Suk Yee, JP, Director of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department by International Olympic Committee (IOC), in recognition of her steadfast contribution to promote sporting events for young people in Hong Kong.

The Presentation of 2010 IOC Trophy was successfully concluded today in Jockey Club Lecture Theatre at Olympic House during the Flag Presentation Ceremony for the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games. This year, the theme of the trophy is titled “Sport – inspiring young people”, with a view to giving due recognition to individual who fosters the development of young people in sporting events.

Mrs. Betty FUNG has long been actively involving in the promotion of young athletes training and team sports activities to engage youngsters in pursuit of healthy lifestyle following the Olympic Values of excellence, friendship and respect. As a result of her dedication and contribution towards the development of sports for youngsters in Hong Kong, recreation and sport programmes for youngsters have been given more attention by the Government as well as the community in Hong Kong at large. Mrs. Betty FUNG well deserves the award of the prestigious IOC Trophy.
