Hong Kong, China Delegation attended the Opening Ceremony of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games

The Opening Ceremony of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) was held today (14 August 2010) at 20:00 at the The Float@Marina Bay with over 200 National Olympic Committees participating in it.

The Opening Ceremony was commenced by the Parade of Athletes, the Hong Kong, China Delegation was led by Mr. Kenneth FOK, Chef de Mission. After a series of spectacular performances, LUM Ching Tat, Hong Kong Swimming athlete, as the flag bearer, presented Hong Kong, China Delegation to make the oaths. 14 athletes obtained the entry tickets for YOG would represent Hong Kong to take part in the following 7 sports: Aquatics, Athletics, Equestrian, Fencing, Sailing (Windsurfing), Table Tennis and Triathlon.

In addition, Hong Kong, China Delegation had attended the NOC Tree Planting at Marina Bay Watefront to plant a tree with the naming of ‘NOC Hong Kong’. The athletes also attended the Wow!Comes Youth Session inside the Youth Olympic Village.
