02.09.2010
Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) was concluded successfully in Singapore on 26 August 2010. To celebrate this triumphant return of the Hong Kong, China Delegation, a Welcome Home Reception was specially arranged today at the President’s Office in Olympic House. We were honoured to have The Hon. Timothy T. T. FOK, GBS, JP, President of Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (the Federation) to officiate at this Reception and Dr. KER Sin Tze, Consul-General of Consulate General of Singapore to present the Certificates of Participation to our athletes.

Hong Kong sent a delegation of 28 members, comprising 14 athletes to participate in 7 sports, namely Aquatics-Swimming, Athletics, Equestrian, Fencing, Sailing-Windsurfing, Table Tennis and Triathlon. The Delegation attained a total of 2 Silver medals (please refer to Appendix for the Competition Results Summary). We believe our athletes have taken this good opportunity to exchange their experience in sports with other young athletes, attended various Cultural and Education Programme and applied Olympism in their daily life. 2nd YOG will be held in Nanjing, China in 2014, hoping that by that time, more potential young athletes can get the qualification to represent Hong Kong in the Games.

Finally, the Federation would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Home Affairs Bureau, Official Sports Wear Sponsor - adidas Hong Kong Limited in appreciation of their continuous support to the Delegation.
