Olympic Youth Sports Camp 2004 Open for enrollment now

The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China joins hand again this year with the Physical Education Department of the Hong Kong Baptist University to organize “Olympic Youth Sports Camp 2004” for local secondary school students from Form 1 to Form 4. It is expected that a sports culture which has international understanding can be fostered among youths through extensive sports activities specially designed for them. The medium of instruction is the Chinese.

The Camp is targeted at Form 1 to Form 4 students who are sports enthusiasts. Two sessions of 5-day long day camp will be organized: Form 1 to Form 2 students will join the first session from 26 to 30 July 2004; while Form 3 to Form 4 students will join the second session from 2 to 6 August 2004. In addition to a wide spectrum of physical and cultural activities specifically aimed at promoting “Olympism”, four kinds of sports training will be organized for the youths. These include swimming, badminton, table tennis and wushu. With a HK$600 registration fee, all youths could participate in five whole days of enjoyable activities and will have a chance to meet and talk with some outstanding athletes of Hong Kong in person. It is sure that the participants will enjoy and spend meaningful days during the Camp.

Entry forms are obtainable from Physical Education teachers of most secondary schools, 18 District Offices of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, or by visiting the Federation’s website at: www.hkolympic.org. The highlight of the last year’s camp is also uploaded on the Federation’s website. The closing date for entry is 25 June 2004.(The registration deadline extends to 15 July 2004)
