Cocktail Reception in celebration of all celebrities from the sectors of Sports, Performing Arts, Culture and Publication being awarded the honours by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region

In celebration of all celebrities from the sectors of Sports, Performing Arts, Culture and Publication being awarded the honours by the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on the 7th Anniversary of the Reunification, a cocktail reception had been arranged by the Federation at the Ballroom, Ritz Carlton Hong Kong on Monday, 19 July 2004 at 5:30 p.m.. To honour the outstanding contribution of the members in connection with sports in 2004 Honours List, commemorative plaques were presented to the sports personalities below by Dr. Patrick C P Ho, JP, Secretary for Home Affairs, Home Affairs Bureau during the occasion.

i) The Honourable Fok Tsun Ting, Timothy, President of the Federation, was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star (GBS) for his distinguished and outstanding contribution to the promotion and development of sports in Hong Kong, particularly for his contribution in raising the status of the HKSAR in the sports arena.
ii) Mr. Hui Chun Fui, Victor, Vice President of the Federation, was awarded the Silver Bauhinia Star (SBS) for his long and significant contribution in promoting sports development in Hong Kong, particularly for his valuable contribution in sports management and fostering the HKSAR delegations’ participation in many international competition.
iii) Mr. Ip Siu Wo, David, Vice President of the Hong Kong Sports Association for the Mentally Handicapped (HKSAM), was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) for his long-term contribution to promotion and development of sports for persons with mental handicap, and training elite athletes with mental handicap to take part in local and international competitions.
iv) Mr. Lee Shui Sing, Benedict, Member of Community Sports Committee, was awarded the Medal of Honour (MH) for his contribution to the promotion of recreation and sports activities.
v) Dr. Cheung Siu Yin, Chairperson of the Gymnastics Association of Hong Kong, China, was awarded the MH, for her valuable contribution to the promotion of gymnastics in Hong Kong.
vi) Mr. Mui Ying Yuen, David, Chairman of Hong Kong Squash, was awarded the MH, for his valuable contribution to the promotion and development of squash in Hong Kong.
vii) Mr. Yew Ka On and Mr. Fu Shu Keung, athletes from HKSAM and Ms. Lam Siu Ling, Executive Committee Member of HKSAM, were all awarded the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Community Service by the Government of HKSAR.
viii) Professor Fu Hoo Kin, Frank, Member of Elite Sports Committee, Mr. Hung Chao Hong and Mr. Tam Hok Lam, Member of Major Sports Events Committee, and Mr. Siu Yu Bun, Alan, Acting Director of Leisure & Cultural Services, were all appointed as the Justices of the Peace (JPs) by the Government of HKSAR.
