Ceremony of Issuing "Prestige Souvenir Cover to Commemorate HK's Participation in the 14th Busan Asian Games

The 14th Busan Asian Games will be held in Busan, Korea from 29 September - 14 October 2002. Hong Kong will be sending its largest contingent of over 300-member to participate in the Games.

To commemorate Hong Kong's participation in the Games, the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China has issued a Prestige Silver Foiled Souvenir Cover on 2 September 2002 at 1/F, Counter Hall, General Post Office, Central?, Hong Kong at 2:30 p.m. The Ceremony of Issuing was officiated by the Hon. Timothy T T Fok, President of SF&OC of HK, China and Mr. Luk Ping Chuen, Postmaster General of Hongkong Post. Members of the Hong Kong, China Delegation and the sports celebrities were also make presence in the Ceremony.
The Prestige Souvenir Cover is designed by an eminent artist, Mr. Freeman Lau who was invited to participate in the poster design competition of the "Beijing's bid for the 2008 Olympic Games". His design was awarded First Prize and was produced as an official promotional medium.
The cover is available for sales at the 38 Philatelic Offices from 26 September - 14 October 2002. The Selling Price is $10 each.
