Australian Youth Olympic Festival – “AYOF”, 19-23 January 2005 - The Team Returns Home with Glories

The Hong Kong Delegation for the Australian Youth Olympic Festival will return home with glories this late evening (24 January 2005). During the four days’ competition, the Delegation achieved outstanding performance with two Gold Medals, one Silver Medal, one Bronze Medal and 6 Hong Kong Records in 5 events.

There were a total of 25 nations/regions participated in the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in 14 events (Archery, Athletics, Basketball, Canoe, Cycling, Diving, Equestrian, Gymnastics, Judo, Rowing, Shooting, Swimming, Volleyball and Weightlifting), in which 7 nations/regions, including Australia, China, Canada, Hong Kong, China, Japan, New Zealand and Oceana, competed in swimming events. It was encouraging that our young swimmers excelled themselves among competitors of strong teams.
