Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards 2002, Give vote to support your favourite athletes

The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China and the Leisure and Culture Services Department join hands once more to launch Hong Kong most prestigious sports event- the annual "Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards 2002". This year, besides Bonaqua, Cathay Pacific Airways Limited and ESPN STAR Sports, we have the support from new generous sponsors from the commercial section of the community namely, AIA Foundation, Mainland Headwear Holdings Limited and TAG Heuer.

Winners of the Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards 2002 will be announced at Awards Presentation on Monday, 10 March 2003 at 5/F, Grand Hall, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre at 7:00 p.m. in conjunction with the annual spring dinner of SF&OC of HK, China. Sports celebrities, officials of associations, elite athletes, overseas VIPs, commercial sponsors and senior government officials will attend the event.
This year, SF&OC received a total of 43 nominations from 25 Associations for the "Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards", 35 nominations were received from 21 Associations for the "Hong Kong Junior Sports Stars Awards", 14 nominations were received from 14 Associations for the "Hong Kong Sports Team of Year Award" and 31 nominations were received from 20 Associations for the "Hong Kong Potential Sports Stars Awards". As for the newly introduced category "Hong Kong Well Being Sports Stars Awards", 11 nominations were received from 11 Associations.
From 15 January to 5 February 2003, the general public will be able to vote for their six favourite athletes among the 43 athletes in the "Hong Kong Sports Stars Awards" through the web site of SF&OC of HK, China at www.hkolympic.org. In return of their support, voters may have the opportunity to join the Lucky Draw and win a gift coupon sponsored by adidas Hong Kong Limited. The Lucky Draw result will be announced on 21 March 2003 on South China Morning Post and on the web site of SF&OC of HK, China. Apart from that, with the support of TVB, the general public can also vote through their mobile phone by just inputting # 93781. The Mobile Operators and Telemedia Company will charge HK$1 for each call.
