XLVIII Festival of Sport Opening Ceremony – Complimentary Admission Tickets

The Festival of Sport is an annual sporting spectacular organized by the Federation and supported by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), aiming to educate the public on the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and to boost community spirit through sporting competitions.

Each year, Sport for All Commission of International Olympic Committee patronages three events in each continent to promote “Sport for All”. This year, the Festival is proud to be awarded with IOC’s patronage as one of the three events in Asia to promote “Sport for All”, in view of its popularity and extensive involvement of all walks of life in Hong Kong. In this connection, the highly prestigious IOC certificates and medals will be presented to all Hong Kong participants to recognize their efforts in promoting “Sport for All”.
To add colour to the event, the Federation specially organizes a grand Opening Ceremony with various performances highlighting the elements of sport, art and entertainment. Free admission tickets for the Opening Ceremony and programme booklets are available now from 18 Districts Offices of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department on first-come-first-served basis!
The details of the Opening Ceremony are: -
Date: 13 March 2005 (Sunday)
Time: 3:00p.m. – 5:00p.m.
Venue: Queen Elizabeth Stadium, Arena
Performances: Police Brass Band, Dragon & Lion Dance, Taekwondo Demonstration, Wushu Demonstration and Dance Performance (Programme subject to change without prior notice)
Fee: Free of charge
