Windsurfing queen LEE Lai Shan and cyclist WONG Kam Po re-captured the Awards
this year, while bowler WU Siu Hong, Badminton player WANG Chen, winners in 2003
Award, were among the winners once again this year. Joining the honour
roll, LEUNG Yuk Wing (Boccia for the disabled), YU Chui Yee (Wheelchair fencing
for the disabled), Olympics table tennis (men's double) sliver medallists, KO
Lai Chak and LI Ching were on the winner list for the first time.
Details of the winners' profiles could be found on the Federation's official
website at
www.hkolympic.org.
Though many of the athletes and teams present were not winners, they were stars
of their own sport. They were nominated by their respective associations for
their Olympic spirit and brilliant performance in international competitions and
multi-sports Games. In recognition of their dedication and effort, SF&OC
specially presented a souvenir to each nominee.
Last but not least, the event would not have been so successful and prestigious
without the generous support from the commercial sectors of the community. They
included Sino Group; Samsung Electronics H. K. Co. Ltd.; McDonald's Restaurants
(Hong Kong) Limited; Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd.; ESPN STAR Sports; Oriental
Daily News and The Sun; RoadShow Holdings Limited and Television Broadcasts
Limited.
