INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE (IOC) PRESIDENT COUNT JACQUES ROGGE VISITS HONG KONG ITINERARY FROM 10 TO 12 JULY 2005

Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) delighted to announce that Count Jacques Rogge, President of International Olympic Committee (IOC), will visit Hong Kong after the 117th IOC Session in Singapore. During his stay in Hong Kong, Count Rogge will be our distinguished honourable guest and will officiate functions in his capacity as IOC President.

His visit programme is tentatively listed as follows:

Count Rogge will arrive at noon 10 July 2005 following by his first Press Conference in the Government VIP Lounge in the Hong Kong International Airport scheduled at 3:00p.m. At 5:00 p.m., he will attend and present the prize to the winning teams at the glamorous volleyball event – 2005 3D-Gold FIVB World Grand Prix - Hong Kong. Afterward, a gala show “Hong Kong Hosts Equestrian Event for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games” will be held in the Sha Tin Hong Kong Jockey Club. Pop singers together with members of sports community will perform during the show.

At noon of 11 July 2005, Count Rogge will meet the Hon. Donald Tsang, the new Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR accompanied by the Hon. Timothy T. T. Fok, President of SF&OC. Following that will be a Lunch in Honour of Count Jacques Rogge. At 3:00 p.m., Count Rogge will be the officiating guest of the Unveiling Ceremony of Olympic House, followed by the Press Conference at Olympic House before his attending the Unveiling Ceremony of Olympic Square in the Hong Kong Park.

In the evening, Count Rogge will attend the Prize Presentation Ceremony of 2009 East Asian Games Emblem Design Competition at Conrad Hotel. After the ceremony, in the same venue, SF&OC will organize a Dinner Reception with the Olympic Family where he will meet representatives from National Sports Associations, 2009 East Asian Games Planning Committee, government officials and commercial sectors.

Count Rogge will depart from Hong Kong on 12 July 2005, which marks the end of his 3-day visit to Hong Kong.
