The First Day of IOC President's Visit to Hong Kong

International Olympic Committee (IOC) President, Count Jacques Rogge, arrived in Hong Kong this afternoon (July 10) for his three-day visit to Hong Kong and he has attended the presentation ceremony of 3D-Gold FIVB World Grand Prix Hong Kong.

Count Rogge arrived in Hong Kong with the Hon. Timothy T. T. Fok, President of SF&OC and Mr. Yu Zaiqing, Executive Vice-President of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX (29th) Olympiad in the afternoon. In the evening, Count Rogge took part in the 3D-Gold FIVB World Grand Prix Hong Kong and was the distinguished guest of the presentation ceremony of the competition.

In the presence of 12,000 Sports lovers in the Hong Kong Coliseum, Count Rogge presented the IOC Trophy “Sport and Fairplay” to Mr. Victor Hui Chun Fui, Vice-President of SF&OC, in recognition to his outstanding contribution to both local and international sports.

Mr. Victor HUI Chun Fui is an experienced sports administrator and enthusiast who devotes himself to the development to sports for more than half century in Hong Kong. Since 2001, Mr. Victor HUI had been the Chef de Mission of the Hong Kong Delegations to international multi-sports Games.

Tomorrow, Count Rogge will first meet with the Hon. Donald Tsang, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR, following by the Unveiling Ceremonies of Olympic House and Olympic Square. In the evening, Count Rogge will also attend the Prize Presentation Ceremony of 2009 East Asian Games Emblem Design Competition and the Dinner with the Olympic Family.
