The 4th Macao East Asian Games & the 1st Bangkok Asian Indoor Games will commence soon – The Flag Presentation Ceremony for the Hong Kong, China Delegations was Held Today

The Flag Presentation Ceremony for the Hong Kong, China Delegations to the 4th Macao East Asian Games (4th EAG) and 1st Bangkok Asian Indoor Games (1st AIG) was held today (29 Sept). The occasion was graced by the presence of The Hon. Rafael HUI, GBS, JP, Chief Secretary for Administration, HKSAR.

Accompanied by The Hon. Timothy FOK, GBS, JP, President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China and Ms. Anissa WONG, JP, Director of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, The Hon. Rafael HUI, GBS, JP presented the HKSAR Flags to Mrs. Vivien FUNG, JP, Chef de Mission of the 4th EAG, and Mr. Ronnie WONG, JP, Chef de Mission of the 1st AIG. Following was a toast by all distinguished guests to wish both delegations return home with glories.
The 4th Macao East Asian Games and the 1st Bangkok Asian Indoor Games will be held on 29 October 2005 – 6 November 2005 and 12-19 November 2005 respectively at Macao and Bangkok. 2005 is a busy year for Hong Kong athletes yet there are more opportunities for them to strive for better performances.
Under the leadership of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, there are a total of 168 athletes participating in the 4th EAG in 14 sports namely: Aquatics, Athletics, Basketball, DanceSport, Dragon Boat, Football, Gymnastics, Hockey, Karatedo, Rowing, Shooting, Tenpin Bowling, Tennis and Wushu. Also, there are a total of 33 athletes participating in the 1st AIG in 6 sports namely: 25m Short Course Swimming, Indoor Athletics, DanceSport, Indoor Cycling, Extreme Sports (BMX, Skateboard and Sports Climbing) and Muay & Wai-Kru.
To further promote both Games to general public, the Federation had established web pages in our official website to introduce the Games and the delegations. During the Games’ period, the most updated results of the Hong Kong, China Delegation will be uploaded onto the web. For details, please visit our official website (www.hkolympic.org).
