Olympic Sport and Literature Competition 2005 (Hong Kong Phase)– Result Announcement

The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China is pleased to announce the results of Olympic Sport and Literature Competition 2005 – Hong Kong Phase.

With the support of the Education and Manpower Bureau, Leisure & Culture Services Department and many other supporting organizations, eight winners of each category with their pieces of articles were selected by the three Panels of Adjudicator.

Age Under 12 (Chinese Language)
Champion:         CHAN Kai Pan (Transcend myself)
1st Runner-up:   WONG Siu Shing (Beyond yourself - From the 23rd to the 7th)
2nd Runner-up:  FONG Kei Wai (Excelling oneself)
Merits:                NG Yan Kiu (Fair play), WONG Tak Yan (Joy in effort),
                           HO Tsz Yik (Joy in effort),
                           CHEUNG Ching Ching (Sunshine after the rain),
                           CHEUNG Ting (Excelling oneself)

Age 12-18 (Chinese Language)
Champion:          CHAN Kin Pong (Excelling oneself)
1st Runner-up:    WONG Hing Fan (Excelling oneself)
2nd Runner-up:  WONG Sun Yui (Joy in effort)
Merits:                FUNG Ching Ki (Respect for others),
                           CHAN Sze Hang (Excelling oneself), TANG Yuk Lin (Fair play),
                           CHAN Man Kuen (Excelling oneself), CHAU Man Man (Joy in effort)

Age 12-18 (English Language)
Champion:          FAN Wing Sum, Jennifer (Excelling oneself)
1st Runner-up:    YU Pui Ming, Stephanie Dorothy (Fair play)
2nd Runner-up:   LI Ho Chiu, Ronald (Balance between body and mind)
Merits:                 LAU Yung Chun, Alice (Excelling oneself),
                            KONG Wai Shan (Excelling oneself), CHAN Mary Jean (The endurance),
                            MA Siu Yun, Lorraine (Excelling oneself),
                            SHIN Brian Bennett (Meditation upon excellence)

This year, we have received nearly 300 pieces of work. It is most delightful to find that the articles of Age 12 – 18 (English Language) category has increased by 50% in number and are of high standard. This does not only show youth’s support to sport, but also the standard of English of youths in Hong Kong.

The top three winning pieces of each category will be sent to the International Olympic Committee for the Olympic Sports and Literature Competition 2005 (International Phase).
