There are 85 countries/regions participating in the XX
Olympic Winter Games – Torino 2006, which is 8 countries/regions more than the
last Olympic Winter Games (77 countries/regions) in Salt Lake City in 2002. The
Short Track Speed Skating will be competed by 19 countries/regions which
including only 5 Asian countries/regions, namely China, Hong Kong, China, Japan,
Korea and D.P.R. Korea from the East Asian region. And Ms. HAN Yueshuang of Hong
Kong, China has qualified for the 500m, 1000m and 1500m events of the Short
Track Speed Skating.
