XX Olympic Winter Games – Torino 2006

Ms. HAN Yueshuang, athlete of Hong Kong, China, participated in the Short Track Speed Skating 500m Preliminary on 12 February but unable to qualify for Finals. There were totally 28 athletes from 17 countries competed in this event. All athletes were divided into 8 heats, and the top two athletes from each heat (totally 16 athletes) would be qualified for the Finals.

Ms. HAN competed in the 6th heat with athletes from USA, Hungary and D.P.R. Korea. She attained the 4th position with 47.087 seconds in her heat that she was not able to get into the Finals. During the Preliminary, two athletes were disqualified and Ms. HAN was ranked 23 temporarily as the final rank will be confirmed after the Finals on 15 February. The Hon. Timothy FOK, President and Mr. PANG Chung, Hon. Secretary General and Chef de Mission of the SF&OC were also present at the competition venue to cheer up for Ms. HAN.

Ms. HAN will compete in the 1500m (Final) on 18 February.
