"2006 Doha Asian Games Children Across Asia Art Competition" Hong Kong Phase - The games for your life, the chance to take part! (The submission deadline is extended to 25 April 2006)

The 15th Asian Games will be held this year from 1 to 15 December 2006. To celebrate the coming of this big event, the Doha Asian Games Organising Committee (DAGOC) has organized the Children Across Asia Art Competition aiming to promote the image of the Asian Games and to discover prospective young talents.

Being one of the National Olympic Committees in Asian Olympic Family, the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China was being invited to organize this Competition in Hong Kong. There are two age categories in the Hong Kong Phase competition:-
1) Age 12 – 14 (born between 1 January 1992 and 31 December 1994 with both days inclusive)
2) Age 15 – 18 (born between 1 January 1988 and 31 December 1991 with both days inclusive)
Participants should submit an artwork with the theme "What sport(s) would I like to play with Orry?" (Orry is the official mascot of the 15th Asian Games) in the following mediums: Crayons, Pastels, Felt tip markers, Watercolour paints or Colouring pencils. The top three of each category in the Hong Kong Phase competition will be awarded Cash Prize of HK$1,000 and a trophy by the Federation. The six pieces of winning artworks will be sent to DAGOC representing Hong Kong to participate in the "Doha Asian Games Children Across Asia Art Competition".
The top overall winner in Age 15 – 18 category of the "Doha Asian Games Children Across Asia Art Competition" will be invited to attend the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006 with a chaperon, whilst the top overall winner in Age 12 – 14 category will be given a special award offered by DAGOC.
The "2006 Doha Asian Games Children Across Asia Art Competition" - Hong Kong Phase is now open for submission until 25 April 2006. Application forms, which should be endorsed by local schools before submission, are available at: -
a) the Secretariat, Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, 2/F., Olympic House, 1 Stadium Path, So Kon Po, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong;
