Doha 2006 Torch Relay Advance Team visits Hong Kong, China

The Doha 2006 Asian Games Organising Committee's Torch Relay Advance Team arrived in Hong Kong today to meet with representatives from the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (NOC HK) and Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) in preparation for the Torch Relay event to be held on Friday 27 October 2006 in Hong Kong.

The Advance Team will be in Hong Kong from 21 April to 24 April 2006 to discuss the local route for the Doha 2006 Torch Relay, logistics and the local celebration that will accompany the arrival of the 15th Asian Games Flame in Hong Kong.
The Doha 2006 Torch Relay is a joint venture between each of the 15 National Olympic Committees and the Doha Asian Games Organising Committee. It will travel by various means of transport throughout its journey including camels, horses, dhows and is likely to include bicycles, trams, elephants, rickshaws, canoes, dragon boats and other modes of transport.
