Six Hong Kong Athletes receive Olympic Scholarships by the IOC Olympic Solidarity to qualify for Beijing 2008

The Award Presentation Ceremony of the Olympic Scholarships for Athletes “Beijing 2008” was held today (19 May 2006), 6:30pm at Jockey Club Lecture Theatre of Olympic House.

The six local scholarship holders are: TANG Yik Chun from Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association Limited, LAW Hiu Fung from Hong Kong, China Rowing Association, WONG Fai from Hong Kong Shooting Association, SZE Hang Yu from Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Association, LI Ching from Hong Kong Table Tennis Association and HO Chi Ho from Windsurfing Association of Hong Kong.
Every scholarship holder will receive an amount of US$1,000 per month from May 2006 until August 2008 through their respective NSAs for their preparation for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
Congratulations to the six scholarship holders for their remarkable achievement. The Federation sincerely wish them all the best in their preparation to the Beijing 2008 Olympics and more to follow.
