2006 OCA Regional Forum for East Asian NOCs, Visit to the Olympic House

After a full day¡¦s meeting today (27 May), the delegates visited the Olympic House at 5:30pm, where the President Office, Secretariat of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) and 42 National Sports Associations¡¦ offices are located. The delegates were guided by The Hon. Timothy FOK, GBS, JP, President of SF&OC and Mr. PANG Chung, BBS, Hon. Secretary General of SF&OC.

In the presence of the Forum delegates, the IOC Trophy 2006 ¡§Sport and the Community¡¨ was presented to Mr. John CHAN Cho Chak, GBS, JP, Managing Director of The Kowloon Motor Bus Company (1933) Ltd., in recognition of his sense of commitment to Sport and the Community of Hong Kong.
Mr. John CHAN Cho Chak is well-known of his passion of sports and has been an enthusiastic supporter of Olympic Movement in promoting and assisting in the development of sports in Hong Kong. He was a member of Asian Games Bid Committee in year 2000 and currently is a member of the 5th East Asian Games Planning Committee.
In the same occasion, the prizes to the winners of ¡§2006 Doha Asian Games Children Across Asia Art Competition ¡V Hong Kong Phase¡¨ were also presented. The art competition was one of the celebration activities of the Doha Asian Games. The competition has two categories (Age 12-14 and Age 15-18). A total of 74 artworks were received in Hong Kong, in which six winning artworks of the two categories were selected by the Adjudicator Panel in representing Hong Kong to compete with artworks from other Asian Regions. Each winner of Hong Kong Phase was awarded with a Cash Prize of HK$1,000 and a trophy. The Adjudicator Panel and winners¡¦ list are attached vide Appendix I.
After visiting the Olympic House, a welcoming dinner was hosted by the SF&OC at the residency of The Hon. Timothy FOK, GBS, JP, President of SF&OC.
