The Hong Kong Volleyball Team get ready for the 40th International Children's Games, 23-29 August, Bangkok

The Flag Presentation Ceremony for the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the 40th International Children's Games (40th ICG) was held in the Olympic House today (31 July 2006). Accompanied by The Hon. Timothy FOK, GBS, JP, President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, Mrs. Carrie LAM CHENG Yuet Ngor, JP, Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs presented the HKSAR Flag to Messrs CHAN Man Kit and CHEUNG King Fai, Head Coaches of the Volleyball team.

The ICG has came to its 40th anniversary this year since the first ICG held in Slovenia in 1968 with the aims of promoting friendship among young people and creating better understanding between nations in the future. The 40th ICG will be held from 23 to 29 August 2006 in Bangkok, Thailand. The age limit of the participatory athletes is between 12 and 15. As it was the first time that Hong Kong was invited by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to participate in the Games, a delegation of 24 young athletes and 5 officials was selected to represent Hong Kong to participate in the event of Boys and Girls Volleyball of the Games.
The Federation sincerely wishes them all the best in their participation in the 40th International Children's Games.
