The Flag Presentation Ceremony for the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the 15th Doha Asian Games was held today

The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) is delighted to announce that the Flag Presentation Ceremony for the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the 15th Doha Asian Games and the Inauguration Ceremony of the Hong Kong Olympians and Meritorious Athletes' Commission (Commission) were successfully held at Hong Kong Stadium today (1 November 2006) to mark this day of significance.

With the witness of our prestigious guests, the HKSAR flag was presented by The Hon. Donald TSANG, GBM, Chief Executive of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, accompanied by The Hon. Timothy FOK, GBS, JP, President of the SF&OC, to Mrs. Vivien FUNG, JP, Chef de Mission of the 15th Doha Asian Games. On the same occasion, a Souvenir Flag was also presented by our overseas guest, Ms. DENG Yaping, member of the Athletes' Commission of the International Olympic Committee to Mr. Victor HUI, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Commission to signify the inauguration of the Commission. Besides, certificates were also presented to Ms. LEE Lai Shan and Mrs. Michelle LEUNG by the President in appreciation for their acceptance to be Hon. Advisors of the Commission.
The forthcoming 15th Doha Asian Games will be held from 1 to 15 December 2006 in Doha, Qatar. Through the meticulous selection process, there are a total of 281 athletes participating in 28 Sports namely: Aquatics, Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Billiards, Bodybuilding, Bowling, Canoe, Cycling, Equestrian, Fencing, Football, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Karatedo, Rowing, Rugby, Sailing (Windsurfing), Shooting, Squash, Table Tennis, Tennis, Triathlon, Volleyball, Weightlifting and Wushu.
To further promote the Games to general public, the Federation has established web pages in our official website to introduce the Games and the Delegation. During the Games period, the most updated results of the Hong Kong, China Delegation will be uploaded onto the web. For details, please visit our official website at www. hkolympic.org.
