Events:

There will be 39 events in the Doha Asian Games 2006; the new events are Chess and Triathlon.

Place:

The Village, which will contain between 1,000 and 1,200 independent luxury villa's, will be a model village including all services and social amenities. The Doha Asian Games Organizing Committee plans to build the Asian Games Village on the West Bay, in the North of the city of Doha. The Village will cover some 800,000 square meters. The settlement will include over 200,000 square meters of public land, densely grown with local flora. The projected budget is US$250 million, including the landscaping and road works. Upon completion of the Games in 2006, the Ministry will deliver the homes to about 1,000 to 1,200 families who are entitled to them, within the framework of the Qatar housing programme.
