Over 130,000 people participated in the Bank of China (Hong Kong) 52nd Festival of Sport

More than 130,000 participants, performers and audience have participated in the Bank of China (Hong Kong) 52nd Festival of Sport (FOS) organised by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (the Federation) which fully demonstrates the spirit of “Sport for All” of the Festival.

From March to June, over 80 competitions, demonstrations and fun days were organized by the 67 co-organisers of FOS, including National Sports Associations, District Leisure Services Offices, and other sports associations. Among them, 36 events organized were sports featured in the 5th East Asian Games which help promote the message of “Hong Kong’s Readiness for 5th East Asian Games”. Moreover, featured sports events were held in the 18 Districts of Hong Kong, allowing citizens in different districts to share the fun in the FOS.

Apart from organizing various sports events, the Federation also arranged interviews with the four FOS Ambassadors including Miss Sherry TSAI, Mr. SO Wa Wai, Mr. WONG Kam Po and Mr. Alex FONG. Through the ambassadors’ experience, the interviews aim to deliver the message of “Self-Perseverance” and to encourage the citizens to adopt a positive attitude in the face of adversities.

The Federation would like to take this opportunity to express its heartfelt gratitude to the following organizations and commercial sponsors for their support to FOS. These include Leisure and Cultural Services Department, BOCHK Charitable Foundation, Xtep (China) Co. Ltd., Swire Coca-Cola HK and Coca-Cola China Limited, New Town Plaza, and last but not least, the 67 co-organizers. With the support of the above organizations, the 52nd FOS was organized with a success!
