Conclusion of XLVIII Festival of Sport


The XLVIII Festival of Sport was concluded successfully in conjunction with the 2005 Olympic Day Run.

Under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee, the Federation delighted to announce that the XLVIII Festival of Sport was successfully held from March to June 2005 with the theme “Enjoying in Festival of Sport, Taking Part in Sport-for-all.” With the active support from the National Sports Associations, a total of 79 activities including competitions, demonstrations, fun days and health seminars were held in Hong Kong. Through the mentioned programs, Hong Kong citizens were able to participate in sports activities and develop a healthy life style.

The Closing Ceremony was held in Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground on 26 June 2005. With the witnesses of over 3,000 citizens, the Hon. Timothy T. T. Fok, President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China declared the closing of the XLVIII Festival of Sport. He hoped that more people will enjoy pracitising sports in the near future and thus achieve the ideal of “Sport for all”.
