The 10th Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon will be held in 12 February (Sunday) at Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. Runners will pass through West Harbour Tunnel to the destination, Gold Bauhinia Square at Wan Chai. Since last December, over 37000 people have enrolled to run the race, which broke the record of participation for a consecutive of nine years. Among the three events (marathon, half-marathon and 10km), 10km is the most popular, with 22376 participants competing and the total prize of the three events is over $ 100,000 US dollars. Marathon champion Dai Yan-Yan will defend her title, and as well run for China team for "The Greatest Race on Earth 2005/06 Series". Top runners from around the globe have competed in Nairobi, Singapore and Bombay since last October. Hong Kong is the last city for the race series with a total prize of over 1,400,000 US dollars.
