Yonex-Sunrise Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2006 will play from August 28 to September 2 at Hong Kong Sport Institute and Queen Elizabeth Stadium. Five events will be played: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. More than 200 players from twenty-six countries / territoroes will compete in this six-star graded competition with an award of US $250, 000 dollars. Defending champion LIN Dan (China) and ZHANG Ning (China) will face challenges from Olympic gold medallist Taufik HIDAYAT (Indonesia), LEE Chong Wei (Malaysia) and LEE Hyun Ii (Korea).
