The FINA Marathon Swimming World Cup – Hong Kong 2006 and the 8th Hong Kong Open Water Swimming Competition will be held on 1 October 2006 at 9 a.m. in Repulse Bay. The FINA Marathon Swimming World Cup – Hong Kong, the 17th leg of the event will be participated by 43 swimmers from Hong Kong, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Netherlands, etc. Top-class male and female in the World Ranking will be here to take part in the 10km marathon race for the glory as well as for the high prize money totaling US$20,000. The 8th Hong Kong Open Water Swimming Competition is open for public registration. Due to its popularity, HKASA will organize the Beach Carnival near the competition venue.
