Olympic Scholarship to athletes<Athens 2004>

Seven promising young Hong Kong athletes have been awarded a two-year Olympic Scholarship by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Olympic Solidarity for training leading to Athens 2004. The Federation had arranged a cheque presentation ceremony to these seven scholarship holders before the 305th Council Meeting on 10 December 2002 at 5:30 p.m. at 3/F, 3 Edinburgh Place (Ex-Urban Council Chambers).

The seven scholarship holders are:
  1. Ms. Chan Wing Suet from Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Association (US1,000 per month);
  2. Mr. Cheung Yuk from Hong Kong Table Tennis Association (US1,000 per month);
  3. Mr. Chiang Wai Hung from Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association (US1,000 per month);
  4. Mr. Ho Chi Ho from Windsurfing Association of Hong Kong (US1,000 per month)
  5. Mr. Ho Siu Lun from Hong Kong Cycling Association (US1,200 per month);
  6. Mr. Law Hiu Fung from Hong Kong, China Rowing Association (US1,200 per month);
  7. Mr. Ng Wei from Hong Kong Badminton Association (US1,000 per month).

Congratulations to these seven scholarship holders for their remarkable achievement. We sincerely hope that they will make the best use of the scholarship to qualify for the Athens 2004 and more to follow.
