The Hong Kong Tree Planting Day was held on 20 March 2005 (Sunday) at Sham Shui Kok in Lantau Island. As invited by the Hong Kong Tree Planting Executive Committee, 50 members from Hong Kong Archery Association, Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Association, Hong Kong Table Tennis Association Limited, Hong Kong Tenpin Bowling Congress, The Hong Kong Karatedo Federation Limited, Hong Kong Wushu Union, Hong Kong Kendo Association and Hong Kong Muay-Thai Association had participated in this meaningful environmental campaign.
Other participated organizations included: Liaison office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR, Office of Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC in the HKSAR, People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison, Environment Campaign Committee, Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions, Civil Aid Services, Hong Kong Scout 229, Hong Kong Housing Authority and Hong Kong Housing Society and so forth.
