The Tree Planting Day was held on 14th April 2002 in Tsing Lung Tau, New Territories. Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) was invited by the Tree Planting Organizing Committee in this environmental protection campaign. On that day, there are over 70 members of SF&OC participating in this event. They are from Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association, Hong Kong Amateur Fencing Association, Hong Kong Amateur Handball Association, Hong Kong Boxing Association, Hong Kong Football Association, Hong Kong Badminton Association, Volleyball Association of Hong Kong, China, Hong Kong Yachting Association, Hong Kong Tenpin Bowling Congress, Hong Kong Wushu Union and Windsurfing Association of Hong Kong
