THE HONG KONG LIFE SAVING SOCIETY

The Hong Kong Life Saving Society, formed in 1956, is an affiliated member of the International Life Saving Federation with Full Membership Status and Founder Membership Status. On the occasion of
their 45th Anniversary, the Hong Kong Life Saving Society, with the mission of advocating life saving
to all, pledges to serve the community to the best of their capabilities by providing lifesaving training as well as arousing the public awareness of water safety. At present, the Society has over 100 affiliated clubs from which including over 6,000 members.

The Hong Kong Life Saving Society is the unique life saving examination authority in Hong Kong by
shouldering the responsibility of all the life saving works here. With the enthusiastic participation of our Council Members, Members of the Executive Committee and affiliated units, more and more people undergoing lifesaving training can perceive the sense of the special features and spirit of life saving and continue to bring its benefits to an ever increasing number of people.
On the other hand, the Society organizes several life saving championships, such as Grand Parade
and Beach Games Championships, Open Water Life Saving Championships, Hong Kong Life Saving Marathon, Hong Kong Open Life Saving Championships, etc., providing the golden opportunity to select the elite athletes for participating the international competition. Meanwhile, the most fascinating programme is "International New Year Swimming Competition". With a thousand of people taking part in it, this competition has been organized for 26 anniversaries, and is to be held on every 1st January at the Repulse Bay.
At the threshold of a new era, their life saving training programmes have become more diversified.
Except aforementioned, a number of training programmes with the world's latest techniques, e.g. Jet Ski Rescue, Aquatic First Aid, Accupressure First Aid and International Referee Training, which
attracted some enthusias tic people from other countries as well as local to participate.
