The 2013 IOC Trophy “150 Years, Pierre de Coubertin, Sport as a School of Life” was presented to Dr. HU Fa Kuang, GBS, JP, Vice-President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China in recognition of his remarkable achievement to local and international sports development.
The Awards Presentation Ceremony of the 2013 IOC Trophy was successfully held today at Jockey Club Lecture Theatre, Olympic House. This year, the IOC is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Baron Pierre de Coubertin and paying tribute to him by naming this year’s trophy after him.
Dr. HU serves the Federation as Vice President for over 20 years and as prominent leader of various sports disciplines in the Hong Kong community since 1970s. He actively involves in the promotion Olympism and supports the development of sports education in Hong Kong. Among his many contributions, Dr. HU made donations to construct the “Hu Fa Kuang Sports Centre” at the City University of Hong Kong to support sports education development for future generations.
