The Flag Presentation Ceremony for the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the Sochi 22nd Olympic Winter Games (OWG) was concluded successfully at President’s Office of Olympic House today (28 January 2014). Mr. Jonathan McKINLEY, JP, Deputy Secretary for Home Affairs of Home Affairs Bureau, accompanied by Mr. Vladimir A. KALININ, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Hong Kong SAR and the Macao SAR of the PRC, presented the HKSAR flag to Mr. Timothy T.T. FOK, GBS, JP, President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (the Federation), Mr. Ronnie M. C. WONG, JP, Chef de Mission of the Hong Kong, China Delegation to the 22nd OWG, Mr. PANG Chung, SBS, BBS, Honorary Secretary General of the Federation and all delegation members in the presence of the Federation’s Elected Officers and guests, including HKSAR Government officials and NSA representatives.
The 22nd OWG is going to be held in Sochi, Russia from 7 to 23 February 2014. Under the leadership of the Federation, Hong Kong is pleased to have an athlete qualified for the Olympic Winter Games once again after its participation in Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games, Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games and Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games before.
Hong Kong will be sending a total of 7-member Delegation to participate in 22nd OWG. One Short Track Speed Skating athlete, Mr. LUI Pan To, Barton will participate in the events of Men’s 1500m.
The Federation would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Home Affairs Bureau and Leisure and Cultural Services Department for their staunch support. Special thanks should also go to FILA Marketing (Hong Kong) Limited and Kent & Curwen for providing the official uniform to the Hong Kong, China Delegation.
Lastly, the Federation would like to take this chance to wish our athlete great success in the 22nd OWG.
