10 athletes awarded Panasonic Sports Scholarship for preparing Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games


The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (Federation) and the Shun Hing Group (Shun Hing) today jointly announced the 10 awardees of the Panasonic Sports Scholarship Programme for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games during the ceremony at Olympic Day 2019. 

Under this Scholarship, Shun Hing will grant each of the awardees a subsidy of HK$162,000 within 15 months falling within the period from 1 June 2019 to 31 August 2020.  The Scholarship will assist athletes to better prepare and strive for the best results in the qualifying competition and possibly in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games by providing financial support towards specialized coaching service, the cost of their local/ overseas training, medical assistance and other items that will assist the athletes.

The Scholarship has been awarded to the following 10 athletes:

1)          CHING Siu Nga    (Athletics)

2)          NG Ka Long (Badminton)

3)          HSIEH Kaylin Sin Yan (Fencing)

4)          SHEK Wai Hung (Gymnastics)

5)          LAU Mo Sheung Grace (Karatedo)

6)          CHAN Chi Fung (Rowing)

7)          SHING Ho Ching (Shooting) 

8)          HAUGHEY Siobhan Bernadette (Swimming)

9)          SOO Wai Yam Minnie (Table Tennis)

10)      Oscar COGGINS (Triathlon)
