Mr. PANG Chung, SBS, Hon. Secretary General of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China led the Hong Kong Badminton and Table Tennis team for the London 2012 Olympic Games finally this afternoon (24 July 2012) amid typhoon Vicente’s visit to Hong Kong.
Mr. PANG said that there were a number of new faces in the Delegation to the London Games this year. He hoped that the newly join-in athletes would bring in more stimulation to the Delegation; for the “veteran” members, with their past experiences, they would attain a better performance by breaking their own records in the Games.
The Hong Kong, China Delegation to the London 2012 Olympic Games consists of 42 athletes and 44 officials, total 86 members in 13 sports, the largest delegation to the Olympic Games after 1997. The remaining teams including Fencing, Judo, Shooting and Weightlifting will depart Hong Kong tonight and tomorrow respectively. The Team Welcome Ceremony of Hong Kong, China will be held at the Flag Plaza of Olympic Village on 26 July 2012, 14:30 London time (21:30 Hong Kong time)
