Flag Presentation Ceremony for the Hong Kong, China Delegation to PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games

The Flag Presentation Ceremony for the Hong Kong, China Delegation to PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games (OWG) was held at President’s Office, 2/F, Olympic House today.

The Federation is honored to have Mr. YEUNG Tak Keung, JP, Commissioner for Sports of Home Affairs Bureau, accompanied by Mr. KIM Weon-jin, Ambassador and Consul-General, Mr. HA Sung-ju, Deputy Consul-General of the Republic of Korea in Hong Kong and Mr. YU Byung-chae, Director of Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong, to present the HKSAR Flag to Mr. Tony K. L. YUE, BBS, JP, Chef de Mission of Hong Kong, China Delegation to the PyeongChang 2018 OWG and Mr. WONG Po Kee, MH, Acting Hon. Secretary General of Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China. The Ceremony remarked the blessing and support from all guests and the Hong Kong people to the Delegation.

The 23rd OWG will be hosted in PyeongChang, South Korea on 9-25 February 2018. Athletes and officials from 93 countries and regions are expected to come together to showcase a variety of winter sports. Hong Kong will be participating in OWG consecutively from Salt Lake City 2002 to PyeongChang 2018.

There will be a Delegation to participate in PyeongChang 2018 OWG. Miss Arabella Caroline Yili NG, the first ever alpine skier representing Hong Kong, will participate in the events of Ladies’ Slalom and Giant Slalom. Arabella has just completed her first senior level FIS race in November and confirmed to be qualified for the OWG by the FIS last month.

The Federation would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to all the supporting organizations and sponsors, including Home Affairs Bureau, Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Blanc de Chine, China Travel Service (H.K.) Limited, FILA Marketing (Hong Kong) Limited, Fitness First (Hong Kong) Limited and Hong Kong Sports Institute Limited.

Lastly, the Federation would like to take this chance to wish our athlete great success in the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
